The Village Justice Court is staffed on a daily basis by the Court Clerk. The Village Justice is an elected office with a four year term. The Acting Village Justice is appointed to a one year term by the Mayor, with approval of the Board of Trustees.
The Justice Court handles tickets issued by the Nassau County Police Department for violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law as well as violations of village traffic laws, ordinances, rules and regulations. In addition, the Justice Court handles violations issued by the Code Enforcement Officer relating to building and zoning matters.
Hours of Operation:
The Village Justice Court office is open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Court is typically in session on the first Thursday of each month, in the evening. Court dates are listed in the Calendar section of this website.
